Even though election inspectors count the votes at the polls on election night, the official results of the elections are not determined until the board of canvassers for the Village of Wales have met and completed the official canvass. The canvass statement is the official determination of the outcome of the election. The election is not complete and no recount can be requested until the canvass has been completed.
